Our Adventure to the Zoo

This month we started a new family tradition
Family Sunday
Family Sunday's are a day were we the family set time aside to be together. It is a day that we put the todo list away, mute the phones and just enjoy the joys of being a family. This Sunday we decided to go to the zoo and then out to dinner. It is the simple things in life that make it worth living for and these are the moments that I want to live for. Aaron and I were so excited! Aaron kept showing Aj all of the animals and I was enjoying taking photos of them and Aaron and Aj. Aj sat back and took all the animals in, but as exciting as the zoo was the slide at the zoo's park was what made his day. At dinner we played the fun game of who has the bucket on their head. Aj is the best at the game, he will stand still like a statue until  he wants to see it tumble down. Then he will laugh and laugh. Thank you boys for giving me a perfect day, I loved hearing you giggles and joy. You are both my world and I love being with you.

Dear Aj,
On this day of love, I thought that we could reflect what it is you love the most. You may only be 17 months old, but you sure do have some true loves in your life.

Best Friend:
This Beautiful little girl is Kairi and she is your best friend. You both light up when you see each other, and are constantly standing up for each other when you are at school. When the two of you sit next to each other while eating it is not uncommon to see you feeding each other. You may only be toddlers but you know that you enjoy spending time together. The other night Kairi came over for a play date, you were so excited to show her your room that you nearly knocked her down trying to get there. You wanted to show her all of your favorite toys and special books. You were sad when you woke up the next morning and she was not there.

Stuffed Animals:
You have a couple favorite animals that you tend to gravitate towards. Doug and Monkey take turns sleeping with you. Kitty gets to go on adventure with you in Mommy's car and tends to get the most beatings. Beju is a soft dog that roams around the house with you and Bobo the bear gets all your tough love. Bobo cant help that he is round, soft and lovable! Bobo was actually your first stuffed animal you ever got. Your Uncle Tristan bought you Bobo on the day that you were born and was lovingly named after his favorite stuffed animal (the original Bobo was a present from me, your Mommy on the day your Uncle Tristan was born)

Your Favorite Clothing:
You are on a red shoe kick! I think you just feel like a big kid in your red shoes. When we are getting dressed in the morning you run over to your dresser, grab your shoes and sit down to put them on. The problem is you are usually butt as naked! We are still learning that pants go on before the shoes. As much as you love putting your shoes on you also love taking them off. It is not uncommon for me to grab you out of the car seat and you will have both of your shoes off and smile to show how proud you are of yourself. I am also so proud of you too. I love watching figure out how things work

These are just a few of your favorite things that you love.
But most importantly I love you!

Oh La La

I love photgraphery! I think there is something so special about capturing a moment, whether it is a mother to be, a little ones first steps or someone laughing. It all bring joy to me! Recently I started to play around with Boudoir style photography and fell in love all over again. Here are some of my favorites.

I look forward to hearing you thoughts, critics and ideas. If you are interested in having your photos done give me a call.

Hello Monkey,
So we need to talk! You are growing up way to quick. A part of me loves every little minute of it and can not wait for you to show me all that you have learned, but then the other part of me realizes how quick you are growing up and that you will not be my baby for every. If you are not going to be my baby, or little boy forever than that means at some point you are going to grow up turn 18, go to college get married and start your own life. sigh.

Last week I put you in "big boy" shoes when we went to go see the chickens. This week you wanted nothing else than to where those shoes. You would run over and grab them and try to put them on. It is a good thing that you want to wear those shoes, because we have been going to the park a lot more and it has been on the muddy side.

On Saturday Daddy was working in the shop so we had our own special day! We went to the park and had a picnic. The day was beautiful and sunny, we had PB&G sandwiches and blueberries. We sat on a picnic blanket, I would blow bubbles and you would go chasing after them. I love our Special little days.
These are the moments that I never want to forget. I love how when you first get on a swing you scream with delight or how proud you look when you climb the playground set and come down the slide.

You are a very special little boy and I am proud to be your Mom

Dear Aj,

What can I say chicks dig you, chickens that is! We had the pleasure of being invited to a friends house who had chickens running around. You loved being able to pet and feed them. At first you stayed nice and close to me when the chickens came running over looking for food but by the time we left you were chasing after them.  The next day we had to take all three cats to the vet, you were so tired because you missed your nap. You were such a trooper but finally you just either need to be held or fall asleep. Falling asleep was not going to happen so you settled on being held. When we were leaving someone came in with 2 eight week old puppies. The bigger kids were petting the puppies so we asked if it would be okay to pet the puppies as well. I am always so proud of you, most children your age are not gentle with animals. You have a special knack and are very kind when you meet new animal. This was no exception, you gentle reached your hand out to the puppy and the puppy promptly started licking your hand, you pulled it away laughing and then tried again.
Puppies and Babies what a cute combination

A couple weeks back we were out shopping and I had a little extra credit in a store so I got you a small stuffed white cat that would meow. You loved it! Every time someone pressed the cats tummy to make it meow you could not stop your self from laughing. The kitty is climbing that latter to being your favorite toy, when you are tired you like to hold it, when you are scared you like to chew on its face (wired I know but I think it is because you dont have the pacifer)

No matter whether it is an aniaml, stuffed or real you love it. You are truly a sweet natured little boy.

Love your very Proud Mommy

Dear Aj,

How is it a week can go by and it seems like forever ago. Every day I feel so lucky to  be your Mother, but our lives are so busy memories seem to fade as fast as they are made. These letters to you are my way of remembering, they are my way of never forgetting the way you are today.

Forever my precious little boy
